Workshop “Conflict –Identity –Statehood: Perspectives for the EU and its Eastern neighbourhood “

We are seeking applications for 10 places reserved for students from Republic of Moldova and Ukraine (MA and advanced BA level) in a DAAD-funded international workshop together with students from Germany to be held at the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University from 30.09 -05.10 2019. The workshop will consist of three main blocs:
(1) an intercultural competence workshop to facilitate communication across cultural divides;
(2) a teaching bloc on identity, conflict and state fragility as well as on the EU and its relation to the Eastern neighbourhood;
(3) a group exercise to develop scenarios for conflict transformation & resolution in the region The workshop will be led by Prof. Dr. Schneckener (University of Osnabrueck, Germany) in collaboration with colleagues from Research Institute of European integration and Regional Studies, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University and SeminarsSimulationsConsulting (SSC) Europe (www.ssc-europe.eu).
Who can apply?
Qualified students, young graduates and post-doctoral students may apply. A special focus will be given to students of political sciences. Other subjects are also welcome!
We expect participants to be present throughout the entire duration of the workshop and to participate actively in all sessions. Participants should have an interest in the Eastern Partnership countries and conflict resolution, excellent study grades in a related subject and be fluent in English. DAAD funding will cover economy class travel, accommodation (7 nights) and board. Participants will have to make their own travel arrangements and need to comply with visa regulations that apply to them. Reimbursements can only be made upon submission of appropriate receipts.
Applications should include a one-page letter of motivation, transcripts, evidence of English language skills and any other documents that you consider of relevance. Applications MUST be sent as ONE SINGLE PDF document to iris.rehklau@ ssc-europe.eu
